CHYSC Intramural and Travel Basketball Registration Now Open

Dear CHYSC Members,

The CHYSC is very happy to announce the opening of registrations for both IM and travel basketball for the winter 2021-22 season.

Here is the registration link for IM basketball:

Here is the registration for TRAVEL basketball

Coach registration for both IM and Travel basketball is here:

Basketball is the first indoor sport the CHYSC is attempting since the onset of COVID.   We are currently working on our safety protocols for the season and will have more information soon on the steps we are taking to ensure safe playing conditions.

All basketball registrations will be 100% percent refundable as long as the refund request happens before the regular season begins.

More information can be found about our basketball offerings from the 2019-20 season on our website.  The IM divisions might be slightly different this year, due to registration numbers and gym availability.

This season in IM basketball, we will have IM basketball programs for all interested players from ages 6-18

All IM basketball programs are co-ed.

This season in travel basketball, we are hoping to have travel teams from grades 4-8, girls teams and boys teams.  However, travel basketball registration will only open in an age group when someone agrees to step up and be the head coach of that team.  As of today, only the 4th, 5th, 7th and  8th-grade boys teams have a coach.   Once a head coach is named for other age groups, we will send an email announcing that registration is open.  Travel basketball tryouts will be happening soon so please register ASAP.   If a player does not make a travel team, their registration fee will be refunded, and we will encourage the player to sign up for our IM program.   Uniforms are not part of the travel registration cost.  This will be an extra cost parents will have to pay out of pocket.

Our Basketball Commissioners for 2021-22 are:

IM Basketball:  Cadiann Cole and Amy Smith (

High School IM Basketball:  Brendan May (

Travel Basketball:  Omar Richburg  (

Coaches are desperately needed, so please email the appropriate commissioner if you are interested in coaching this season.

Please email any basketball-related questions to the basketball commissioners.

Chestnut Hill Youth Sports Club

The Chestnut Hill Youth Sports Club (CHYSC) was founded in 1962 as The Chestnut Hill Fathers Club. The club name was changed in 2001 to better reflect the mission of the club.  We are a community organization of over fifteen hundred families devoted to providing team sports for our children. Although the large majority of our members are from Mt.Airy and Chestnut Hill, they also reside in various nearby communities including Germantown, Roxborough, Oak Lane, Whitemarsh, Erdenheim, Lafayette Hill, Wyndmoor, Flourtown and Oreland. Men, women, parents and non-parents, of all ages and ethnic, racial and social backgrounds volunteer to coach the teams, run the leagues, and administer the club. Their time and dedication benefit an equally diverse group of thirteen hundred children who live or go to school in the Northwest Philadelphia community.
