Chestnut Hill Baseball is the original and premier baseball program in Northwest Philadelphia. Founded in 1962 by the Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill Businessmen’s Association as The Chestnut Hill Fathers Club. The Club began providing organized baseball and basketball leagues at The Water Tower Recreation Center in Chestnut Hill. Today the same entity renamed The Chestnut Hill Youth Sports Club continues this vital mission to youth between the ages of 5 and 19.

While the Major & Minor Baseball Leagues are still operated at The Water Tower, the Club has expanded its physical presence over the years through the generosity of local schools and property owners; Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, Norwood Fontbonne Academy, Crefeld School and others have provided quality playing fields and indoor facilities. The Teeball and Rookie leagues play at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy fields. The Club is particularly proud of the professional dimension baseball field at the Carson Valley School in Flourtown developed in partnership with The Springside School. This first class, natural grass field complex includes a 90/60 baseball field, as well as multiple soccer and lacrosse fields. The field is home to our Senior Baseball Program.

The Club utilizes volunteers and professional turf management companies to maintain the fields at Water Tower and CVS throughout the year through funding provided by program fees, sponsor income, snack bar profits and generous donations by individuals and local businesses. These are the only playing fields maintained by the Club itself and are considered to be among the best baseball playing surfaces in the surrounding area. Volunteers are the most important aspect of maintaining these fields and we encourage all our members to be involved in this most important job. The Club provides all the necessary equipment including mowers, tools and hoses to groom the fields for game play. Please let us know of your interest to volunteer through our on-line volunteer registration when registering your child.
